Chelsea Weibley at the Library
I am gravitating toward feel-good, sappy reads due to the uncertain times we are facing and this book fit the mold perfectly. I absolutely loved Always by Sarah Jio, which is certainly sappy but oh-so-lovely. The book takes place in Seattle with Kailey Crane engaged with a great job and home. Then, one night, she is leaving a restaurant and sees a homeless man. Their eyes meet and she realizes he is her lost love of her life, Cade McAllister. The book is told in present day and through flashbacks. Cade was involved in in the music industry in Seattle in the 1990s which I found to be an interesting part of the story. The present day piece involves discussions of homelessness and mental health which are important topics. I found this book balanced the sappy romance with key societal issues really well. I have loved everything I read by Sarah Jio and this one is, for me, a win. Check out this book and other by the author in our eLibrary at https://lclibs.overdrive.com/ or using your Libby app.
