Trust Your Eyes by Linwood Barclay
Thomas Kilbride has schizophrenia and spends all of his time, day and night, on his computer. Thomas is obsessed with maps and travels the globe using an internet-based program, Whirl360. He has memorized the layouts of numerous cities around the world through his “travels.” Ray Kilbride, his brother, has recently come home to handle their father’s affairs. Their father recently passed and Ray needs to not only deal with everything that comes with his death, but he must also develop a plan for Thomas’s future.
As Thomas is clicking through the streets of New York City, he sees an image in a window. It looks like a woman being murdered. Ray has dealt with Thomas’s paranoia before, but this time, it seems to be more. As they begin to investigate, they realize they are deeper in the dark and sinister than they ever wanted to be. They have stumbled into a conspiracy and they see no way out…
Stephen King called Trust Your Eyes by Linwood Barclay, “a tale Hitchcock would have loved.” I wish Hitchcock would have been able to turn this into a cinematic masterpiece (contemporary twist on Rear Window!), but the book is riveting and a masterpiece of a suspense tale and thriller on its own!
This is such an entertaining thriller! I was hooked from the start and highly recommend this gripping story!
