Chelsea Weibley at the Library
I am going to do a bit of a 180 from the more sappy stories I have reviewed recently and talk about a suspenseful book that I really enjoyed. Ruth Ware’s The Turn of the Key feels like an Agatha Christie tale. Rowan Caine accepts a live-in nanny position at Heatherbrae House in the Scottish Highlands. The beautiful home has been fitted with all “smart home” technology which results in some creepy malfunctions throughout the story. The house itself takes on the role of a character in the book which I found to be interesting. The entire story is told by Rowan through a letter to her lawyer as she sits in prison waiting to be tried for murder. The question throughout is who will be murdered and who will commit the murder. I loved this atmospheric tale and have enjoyed all of Ruth Ware’s books to date. Check out this read and others by the author in our eLibrary at https://lclibs.overdrive.com/ or using your Libby app.
