The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews
‘Tis the season for sweet and sappy holiday romances read with a hot beverage and a cozy blanket! Mary Kay Andrews’s latest novella, The Santa Suit, is the perfect story for this special time of year! Some of the holiday focused authors seem intent on making readers cry, but The Santa Suit is heartwarming without the tears.
Ivy Perkins is recently divorced when she moves from Atlanta to an old farm house in the North Carolina mountains. She bought the house without visiting and discovers quickly there are MANY unanticipated repairs in her future. Lucky for her, the real estate agent who sold the house to her, Ezra, lives close by and is happy to help her with projects.
On her first night in the house, Ivy discovers a beautiful Santa suit. She learns from neighbors the previous owner was the town Santa for many years. Ivy begins trying to track down the writer of one “Dear Santa” letter discovered in the pocket of the suit.
This is a holiday read, so predictability is expected and honestly, quite welcomed! I enjoyed this story and it certainly got me more in the spirit of the season.
