Friends Like These by Kimberly McCreight
“There are no secrets that time does not reveal” ~ Jean Racine
These is no shortage of secrets in the latest suspense novel by Kimberly McCreight! A group of friends who met years ago in college share dark secrets and are travelling to the Catskills for the weekend. They are going to try to convince one member of the group with a drug addiction to go to rehab. Nothing about the weekend goes according to plan and many secrets – shared and private – are revealed.
There are a fairly large number of POVs in this story from the past and present in the story, but I thought they were easy to follow. We did not linger with any one POV except the Detective whom I loved. She was a strong character who grounded the story for me.
I don’t want to reveal anything else! I love Kimberly McCreight’s novels and while this wasn’t my favorite of hers, it was a solid thriller and includes some timely issues.
