Quarantine Crafts with Mary S
Hello and welcome back! This week for Quarantine Crafts I made greeting cards out of some assorted paper and card stock I had available. We are getting by with video chats and phone calls to family and friends but I thought sending out handmade cards would be a nice change. How cool would it be to stumble upon a handwritten letter twenty years from now and get a look back into how we were experiencing a historic moment in time!
I found a ton of inspiration through Google and Pinterest and just went for it. I don’t have step by step instructions for you this time because these are completely customizable to what you like and what supplies you have on hand. Get creative! Scrapbook paper is great to use as it’s multiple designs but in the same color scheme. I cut out some colored hearts for balloons and I’ve also seen buttons, string, ribbon and glitter used. I intentionally left the insides blank so there is enough space to write a letter. If you’re sending cards for a special occasion you could hand write or print out a nice, related quote or saying for the inside.
The materials I used were:
- assorted paper
- glue
- scissors
- fine tip markers
- pencil
- ruler
Each of my cards is 5 inches by 7 inches because I had some envelopes on hand that they would fit in for mailing. I hope you explore and have fun with creating your own cards!
